Committed to strong principles
From core values to global management systems and the way business is conducted, Scania is committed to upholding the ten principles of the UN Global Compact (UNGC), which has now been complemented, by Agenda 2030 and its sustainability goals (SDG’s).
UNGC is an initiative for companies to align their operations with universally accepted principles of doing business in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. Scania’s commitment is one way we express the support for practices that reduce negative impacts on the environment and people and enhance positive ones. It applies just as much to how Scania is managed, as it does to production and supply chain and other relationships along the value chain.

On 1 January 2016, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development officially came into force. For Scania the Development Goals (SDGs), have reinforced the sense of urgency when it comes to continuing to incorporate sustainability into our business plan.
Scania also supports the initiative Fossil free Sweden which was initiated by the Swedish government ahead of the climate change conference in Paris 2015.
On the social side, Scania have endorsed the Global Deal declaration, which promotes social dialogue, effective industrial relations and decent working conditions around the world.
